Pierre & Vacances Residence Le Palais des Gouverneurs is a superior residence located on the Ile de Ré in the main town of St Martin de Ré, just 250m from the harbour and 1km from the first beach. Accessed via a 3.5km toll bridge from La Rochelle, the Ile de Ré is a hugely popular destination and one of the most beautiful of the islands of the French coastline. Saint Martin de Ré is the island's capital and is a delightful fishing village which has been built up around the harbour and protected by its ramparts.
Le Palais des Gouverneurs is, as the name suggests located in the former Governors Palace, a few steps from the bustling harbour, in the centre of town and sits within its own private park. The main form of transport on the island is by bicycle and bikes can rented from the residence reception for a small charge. There is a half-covered heated swimming pool with jet streams and solarium. By the poolside, deckchairs are available for guests to use (subject to availability). Also available is a sauna (free of charge), a games rooms for children under 6 years and table tennis.
The apartments are located either in the original Governors building or in two further buildings (both in keeping with Ile de Ré traditions), are spacious and have flat screen TV and a mini-oven. Apartments sleeping upto 6 people are available to book. Free parking is available close to the residence (details will be given on how to access to the car park once you have checked in. |
