Cottages in Burgundy

The Burgundy region (or Bourgogne in French) is one of the wealthiest and prosperous regions in France. Once a great dukedom in the middle ages, today Burgundy is probably most famous for its wines and is an increasingly popular destination for self-catering cottage holidays.

One of the most visited places in Beaune is Les Hospices de Beaune, a medieval hospital and quite unusual monument. The area around Beaune is also home to the majority of the Burgundy Vineyards with the most famous wines being Côte d'Or, the Côte de Beaune and Chablis.
