La Tranche-sur-Mer is renowned for its wonderful south facing beaches, and the most popular is within walking distance of the site. Camping Du Jard is a well-run site with flat, grassy pitches and modern facilities housed in attractive Vendéen-style buildings, including a swimming pool complex with covered pool. You can relax in the sauna or enjoy a drink on the bar terrace. Rules are strictly enforced for the benefit of all customers and no shorts are allowed in the swimming pool.

Around and about
La Tranche-sur-Mer is just three miles from the campsite, where the beach is exceptional and there is also a lot of history to discover. The ruins of Talmont Castle are sixteen miles away. Here you can climb to the top for spectacular views. The zoo at Les Sables d’Olonne, a forty-five minute drive, is also worth a visit. Further afield is La Rochelle with its fortified harbour and wide boulevards.
