From North Uist, the A865 South leads to Lochboisdale, and the port is well signposted.

Although there is no bus stop at the port, bus services are able to make stops at the port on request. The W17 bus service calls through Lochboisdale.

There is no service in the terminal. The nearest shops, cash machines and petrol stations are in the town, just 300 metres from the port.

During the winter, the terminal is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 05:00 to 17:00, Thursday from 06:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 05:00 to 15:00 and Sunday from 06:00 to 13:00.

During the summer, the terminal is open Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 06:00 to 15:00 and Sunday from 06:00 to 13:00.
