A former capital of culture, Lille is a vibrant and exciting city, easily accessed via Eurostar or by car. Lille brings old and new together with century old buildings in the old town and a mix of trendy bars and restaurants scattered around the city. A must for shoppers is the huge Euralille shopping centre and in stark contrast, the famous ‘braderies’ when the streets become lined with second-hand stalls and flea markets. The chic coastal resort of Le Touquet has an abundance of hotels, holiday apartments and cottages and is ideal for a short break or a family holiday. The medieval town of Boulogne-sur-Mer still boasts a 19th Century Basillica Notre-Dame, which sits proudly over the port, the Nausicaa marine aquarium and an enviable array of fish restaurants. The nearby Cap Blanc-Nez provides superb views of Calais and the cliffs of Kent.
