Founded in 1934, Val d'Isere offers 300kms of ski runs, mostly suited for experienced skiers. The resort is also home to some of the most expensive and exclusive restaurants, retail stores and loudest and hippest night clubs in the French Alps. Being a former Olympic resort, Val d'Isere offers plenty of outdoor sports, indoor sauna and spa facilities.
Val d'Isère resort is linked with Tignes and part of the famed Espace Killy skiing area.

Val d'Isère comprises of several mini-satellite resorts including La Daille, Bellevarde and Val Village - a pleasant, pedestrian-only complex. Of the three ski areas, Solaise is the one recommended for beginners.
