A popular ski resort for the Brits, Les Deux Alpes lies between Grenoble and Briançon and is a great high-altitude resort. Although ideal for all levels, some of the easier slopes are actually higher up the mountain, on and around the glacier.

For more adventurous skiers, take time to discover the terrain offerered at La Meije. Pistes can become a little crowded so nervous skiers beware or use the efficient lift system that operates around the resort.

The centre of town offers a decent array of bars and restaurants and is always a good choice for those wanting lively après-ski.
