Founded by a british skier, Méribel is one of the best known ski resorts in France. The resort is divided into 5 'districts' but most of the accommodation and activity is to be found in Méribel-Centre and in Méribel-Mottaret.
The majority of shops and restaurants are located in Méribel 1450 as is the La Chaudanne lift. The highest of the districts is Méribel Mottaret at 1750m and it guarantees good snow and doorstep skiing. The best nursery slopes are situated at the Altiport and lead back to the resort whilst the experts should head up by the Mont de la Chambre and the Col du Fruit.
Méribel has a lively après-ski atmosphere and often draws groups of younger people who love the number and variety of bars and restaurants. |
